Dez Bryant Injury Update: Jerry Jones Unsure Of Bryant’s Status For Sunday

Since Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant injured his quad on Sunday against the New York Jets, he has remained mostly positive about his chances of playing on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. He has been backed up by Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones who has repeatedly said Bryant will be ready to play on Sunday. Good news, right?

Well, in a sign that Bryant could be looking at sitting out the game, Jones admitted Bryant’s status for Sunday is iffy (that’s a medical term). Bryant was absent at the start of practice on Friday, which means he has missed all three days of practice this week. He is an explosive talent who likely doesn’t need a ton of practice, but given the optimism we had previously heard, this is a bit concerning.

The 49ers and Cowboys play a 4:05pm ET game, which means if you’re loaded with early games you may have to roll the dice on Bryant. As it currently stands, if your roster dictates a decision before the early games, bench Dez Bryant. We’ll update this situation as game day approaches.
