Kenny Britt Injury Update: Monday MRI To Answer Fantasy Implications

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt injured his right knee in the second quarter of Sunday's 17-14 victory and the worst is feared from the injury. Britt will undergo an MRI on Monday but most people expect the results will show torn ligaments that would require season-ending surgery. ACL and MCL tears can't be 100% certain until the MRI is done, but Adam Schefter and the NFL Network have indicated those are the fears.

Britt was off to a strong start in 2011 with back-to-back 100+ yard receiving games and three touchdowns in those games. The loss is a huge blow to the Titans and fantasy owners alike. Britt slipped a bit in drafts due to some of his off-field issues, but rewarded those who did draft him.

In single season leagues you’ll want to hold on to Britt until we get official word on the nature of the injury. Although most expect an ACL and/or MCL tear, it’s remotely possible that Britt gets good news of a sprain. I’m not holding my breath for good news, but you might as well wait a day or two before releasing Britt.

If Britt is done for the year, Nate Washington becomes the number one receiver in Tennessee with Lavelle Hawkins, Damian Williams and Marc Mariani will battle for the second spot. None is worth a flier at this point so you'll want to see what is sitting on your waiver wire.
