Fantasy Football Week 4 Running Back Projections: Fred Jackson Has Arrived

While the computer may be hot on Rashard Mendenhall, I'm not, and neither are a lot of other experts. He fails to crack the top 10 in our latest update.

SB Nation Fantasy Football partner, playthisguy.com, uses the wisdom of crowds approach to ranking fantasy football players each week. The idea is they survey Internet sites who dispense fantasy football rankings, 19 of them this week, and combine those into one easily digestible list.

Fred Jackson of the Buffalo Bills has always been thought of as a good back. This year, he's among the best so far. The Bills offense has been a pleasant surprise, and for those lucky enough to draft Jackson, he now ranks as the fifth running back for Week 4. Matt Forte and the Bears running game was stonewalled by the Packers last week. At least Forte did produce through the passing game. The experts think that Forte will have a good week against the Panthers defense and rank him sixth.

Ahmad Bradshaw was very productive last week against Philly, expect more of the same when the Giants take on the Cardinals. Maurice Jones-Drew should also see success against a Saints defense that has given up points on the year.

Week 4 Consensus Rankings

1. Adrian Peterson (MIN @ KC)
2. Darren McFadden (OAK vs. NE)
3. Ray Rice (BAL vs. NYJ)
4. LeSean McCoy (PHI vs. SF)
5. Fred Jackson (BUF @ CIN)
6. Matt Forte (CHI vs. CAR)
7. Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX vs. NO)
8. Michael Turner (ATL @ SEA)
9. Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG @ ARI)
10. Ryan Mathews (SD vs. MIA)
