The Week 11 matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams should be a low-scoring affair. We’ve got the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire.

Miami Dolphins

Miami’s coaching staff has indicated that the Dolphins are now a run-first team. That should come as no surprise to fantasy owners of running back Jay Ajayi. He put together back-to-back 200-yard performances to finish the month of October and then benefited from the fact that teammate Arian Foster decided to retire in the middle of the season. Week 10’s win over the San Diego Chargers represented the first time in three weeks that Ajayi failed to rush for at least 100 yards and a touchdown. His totals weren’t that bad considering he ran for just 16 yards on 11 carries in the first half. Perhaps the volume he’s been getting is catching up to him. Ajayi should still be able to top his projections in Los Angeles.

Whether or not teammate and wide receiver Jarvis Landry does depends on the format fantasy owners are using him in. Landry caught all six of the passes thrown to him last week and managed to put together 53 yards. In PPR formats getting six catches is enough to warrant being in the starting lineup. In standard leagues with such a low yardage total, it’s worth benching Landry. Either way his stock has dropped. Now that Miami is committed to running the ball, it appears the days of Landry seeing double digits in targets are done. He is only worth using in deeper formats and may not see enough action to surpass his projections against the Rams.

Los Angeles Rams

Head coach Jeff Fisher announced during the week that the long awaited debut of 2016 first round draft pick Jared Goff will finally come to fruition in Week 11. It could change the pecking order of Rams receivers depending on who Goff feels chemistry with. Fantasy owners of wide receiver Kenny Britt are hoping nothing changes for their sake. Britt caught seven of 10 passes for 109 yards against the New York Jets last week. Unfortunately the Rams didn’t look to him as often in the second half. He picked up 90 percent of his yardage total in the first two quarters of the game. Perhaps the rookie quarterback will be capable of feeding Britt the ball consistently this week. That said, the Rams will likely employ a conservative game plan for Goff, making it hard for Britt to reach his projected totals in Week 11.

The reality of the Rams playing it safe may help tight end Lance Kendricks. He’s been a popular pickup on the waiver wire lately and deservedly so. He’s caught seven passes in two of the last three games. Unfortunately the third game was last week, where he was targeted just twice and caught a single pass for no gain. A conservative game plan normally favors the tight end position as quarterbacks tend to look down the middle of the field on third and long situations in an effort to try to make up some ground. That might make Kendricks a sneaky play for fantasy owners that are willing to take a risk. He may just have a higher ceiling than Todd Gurley this week, which is difficult to imagine but also totally arguable.
