Formula 1’s newest team is heading to its first British Grand Prix.

And they will arrive at the historic Silverstone Circuit in style.

Ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix, Cadillac unveiled a special livery for the occasion. As F1’s latest all-American operation, the team is leaning into the occasion with a red, white, and blue paint scheme, which the team described as a “deliberate expression of the team’s American identity, pulling on the stars and stripes icons that symbolize its American heritage and honor the milestone in the country’s history:”

In addition to the colors, the rear wing reads “USA,” and the front wing contains 50 stars.

“The 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1,” said Dan Towriss, Cadillac F1 CEO, in the team’s media preview of the British Grand Prix. “We want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion.”

On the track, Cadillac hopes to bounce back after a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix. Both Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas needed to retire early in the race due to overheating brakes, and the team hopes to take a step forward at Silverstone.

“The Austrian Grand Prix was a challenge for us – but there is not one team in the pitlane that has not had similar days,” said Graeme Lowdon, Cadillac’s team principal. “We have been working incredibly hard to rectify the issues. We have seen that the upgrades brought to Spielberg were positive, and our objective in Silverstone is to ensure that we have a clean weekend to maximize the performance potential we see. We appreciate it’s a big task - especially coming so soon after Austria - but we will take every opportunity to learn, move forward and continue our progress as a team.”

Pérez, who nearly secured the team’s first F1 point at the Monaco Grand Prix before a post-race penalty, hopes to deliver for the team’s American fans this weekend.

”The team continues to show so much promise and I am encouraged by the flashes of performance we demonstrated in Austria,” added Pérez. “That said, we need to now focus on getting the foundations completely solid to unlock that potential. To develop our car and this team as rapidly as possible, we need to get mileage and information in every session. Silverstone will be a tricky event and it looks like high temperatures again, but we have a lot of experience and resilience in this team to find the way forward.

”I’m looking forward to the weekend and hope to be able to give our American fans another reason to celebrate the 4th of July.”

Cadillac is one of three teams to unveil a special livery for the British Grand Prix, joining McLaren and Williams.
