The news that Netflix may be seeking the broadcast rights to Formula 1 in the United States is not the only news the streaming service is making this Friday.

The streaming service confirmed the release date for the upcoming season of Drive to Survive, which will drop on March 7. Netflix confirmed the launch date on social media, with a poster promoting the upcoming season:

That release comes one week ahead of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, and a week following pre-season testing.

The poster speaks to one of the main themes for the upcoming season, with an image of F1 Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen looking in a rear-view mirror at two battling cars, one a McLaren and the other a Ferrari.

Those two cars are presumably those of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, who pushed Verstappen deep into the season as the Red Bull driver looked to secure his fourth-consecutive Drivers’ Championship.

That is one of many storylines that the upcoming season of Drive to Survive will cover, along with Daniel Ricciardo’s shortened season at Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, McLaren and Ferrari fighting for the Constructors’ Championship until the final laps of the season, Lewis Hamilton’s stunning move to Ferrari, and more.

Also, you might want to keep an eye out for your favorite F1 writer, who might be seen in footage from both Miami and Austin ...
