Michael Thorbjornsen’s first PGA Tour victory comes at Rocket Classic
Michael Thorbjornsen took home his first PGA Tour win on Sunday at the Rocket Classic
It took 65 career starts, but the soon-to-be 25-year old is ahead of the game for the most part, and on Sunday he got to experience lifting a trophy on the greatest tour in the world out in Detroit.
Prior to the Rocket Classic the highest that Thor had ever finished was T2 at both the 2024 John Deere as well as the 2025 Corales Puntacana Championship. Getting that first career win is always an incredible feeling.
On the subject of firsts, Thor marks the eighth player to win for the first time this PGA Tour season. He is also the fourth first-time winner in the Rocket Classic’s history and the second in a row behind Aldrich Potgieter.
It was also a big week for Tour favorite in Xander Schauffele as he finished second in his tournament debut. He currently sits 11th in FedExCup standings.
