The 2011 PGA Grand Slam of Golf will wrap up later Wednesday and the results from the early Day 2 action seem to indicate that golf fans might be in for an exciting finish. Rory McIlroy and Keegan Bradley shared the lead after the opening day’s action, but Charl Schwartzel seems poised to put himself atop the leaderboard by the time the tournament is complete.
PGA Grand Slam Of Golf 2011: Leaderboard Shows Charl Schwartzel Gaining On Keegan Bradley
Through 11 holes on the second day of tournament play, Bradley has maintained his lead with a three-under for the tournament despite shooting one-over on Wedneday. Schwartzel, the South African native, is currently on pace to shoot two below par in the tournament after salvaging a disappointing first day of play with a five-under round through the first eleven holes of Day 2.
McIlroy is struggling in his second day of play, however, as he’s three-over par on Wednesday to drop him from four-under to just one below par and a current third place spot in the standings. Rounding out the four-man leaderboard is Darren Clarke -- and he’ll probably stay there as he’s five-over with just seven holes left in the tournament. The Grand Slam of Golf is 36 holes, played over two days, featuring the winners of the year’s four grand slams. If Bradley is able to hold on for the lead, it’ll be quite a prestigious honor as he began this year as a rookie on the PGA Tour.
