Franklin Templeton Shootout 2011 Leaderboard: Two Teams Share First-Round Lead

PGA Champion Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele teamed for a nine-under 63 on Friday to share the first-round lead of the Franklin Templeton Shootout with Mark Calcavecchia and Nick Price.

The Wisconsin team of Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly are alone in third at eight-under 64. Rickie Fowler and Camilo Villegas combined for a seven-under 65 and are fourth at the Gold Course at Tiburon Golf Club. Check out the full leaderboard here.

This three-round unofficial event started with a modified alternate-shot format on Friday. In round one, each player on the team hits a drive, the best drive is used and the golfer whose drive wasn’t picked plays the second shot. The two alternate shots until the ball is holed.

Jason Dufner and Sean O’Hair are alone in fifth at six-under 66.

Anthony Kim and Webb Simpson posted a five-under 67 and are tied for sixth with Rory Sabbatini and Jhonattan Vegas and Kenny Perry and Scott Stallings.

Charles Howell III and Justin Leonard carded a four-under 68 and share ninth with Chad Campbell and Chris DiMarco.

Tournament host Greg Norman and Scott McCarron, who replaced Fredrik Jacobson this week, only managed a three-under 69 and are 11th. Stewart Cink and Bo Van Pelt shot a two-under 70 and are last in the 12-team field.
