One week from Sunday, the 2011 British Open will have a winner, but on this weekend Luke Donald, the No. 1 golfer in the world, will enter the Open Championship with a victory at the 2011 Scottish Open. Playing in a rain-shortened tournament, Donald picked up his first win since becoming the top golfer in the world, shooting 19-under over 54 holes.

Donald’s third and final round was a 9-under 63, but second-place finisher Fredrik Andersson Hed came up with a 10-under 62 in the third round to finish at 15-under. Both will be confident heading into Royal St. George’s Golf Course on Thursday.
Lee Westwood, the No. 2 golfer in the world, finished seven strokes behind at 12-under. Angel Cabrera finished tied for third at 14-under and will look to improve upon his best finish in the British Open, fourth in 1999. Colin Montgomerie needed a top-five finish to qualify for the British Open, but his 10-under put him in a tied for 31st place.
