On Thursday, Lucas Glover secured his place near the top of the British Open leaderboard. The American heads to the clubhouse with a 4-under score, good for a second-place tie with Miguel Angel Jimenez.
British Open 2011: Lucas Glover Birdies Last Three Holes To Move Within Stroke Of Lead
Despite a bogey on the second hole, Glover’s play remained steady through the early going, putting him in position for a terrific finish. He birdied the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes to conclude his first round. Glover, age 31, is looking to win the second major of his career and his fourth PGA Tour event overall.
