2011 British Open Tee Times And Pairings For Friday

The first round of the 2011 British Open is in the books and two surprising names sit atop the leaderboard. 20-year-old amateur Tom Lewis shocked the field, knocking in four straight birdies down the stretch to finish the day at 5-under, a tournament amateur record. He is joined by late edition, Thomas Bjorn, who also shot a 5-under. Bjorn was added to the field just three days before the event as a replacement for Vijay Singh, and thus far has made the most of his opportunity.

Second day action begins early Friday morning at 4:30 a.m. ET. A full listing of tee times and pairings can be found here.

Here are some of round two’s featured pairings:

7:31 AM: Tom Lewis, Henrik Stenson, Tom Watson. After shooting a blistering back nine on day one, 20-year old amateur Tom Lewis finds himself atop the leaderboard. Will he be able to carry that momentum throughout the tournament or was his first round just a fluke?

10:26 AM: Thomas Bjorn, Simon Dyson, Gary Woodland. With demons still lingering from his infamous 2003 flameout at Royal St. George, it’ll be interesting to see whether Thomas Bjorn can learn from the mistakes of his past or fall victim to the same story.

12:10 PM: Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els. While all three of these men have yet to break par, each of one is talented enough to put together a run to the top.
