The opening round of the The McGladrey Classic tees off bright and early Thursday morning at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside course at St. Simons Island, Ga. It’s the third event of the Fall Series, and a number of pros who make their home on St. Simons and nearby Sea Island will be in attendance for the late-season event.

The first round of The McGladrey Classic will feature a number of decorated veterans and up-and-coming rookies, as the Fall Series continues.

Zach Johnson and Davis Love III are two local pros who will tee it up, and they’ll play together the first two days alongside Ben Crane. It’s Johnson’s first appearance since his steady showing at the Ryder Cup. He was one of the top players in the world this year, and he’ll be a favorite this week on the Georgia coast. He’ll tee it up with Love at 8:05 a.m. ET on Thursday.
With the sun setting earlier as the fall progresses, Golf Channel will come on the air earlier than normal on Thursday for the first-round broadcast. Coverage will run from 2 p.m. through 5 p.m. ET, highlighting a number of veterans and upstarts who are playing in the afternoon wave. One featured group will include Jason Day, Stewart Cink, and Bud Cauley. Cink is a proud Georgian and Cauley is one of the top young players in the world. It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Cauley earns his first Tour victory, and he’s among the favorites this week at The McGladrey. He tees off at 12:45 p.m. ET.
