Keegan Bradley warns Bubba Watson: No stink eye for you

Watson gives Keegan Bradley the full Bubba treatment

Keegan Bradley has taken a lot of heat for his twitchy swing approach but the U.S. Ryder Cup star has an admirer of his evil-eye putting prep in Masters champ Bubba Watson.

Watson, it seems, had just finished his press conference prior to this week’s WGC-HSBC Champions event in Guangdong, China, when Bradley stepped up to the microphone. Ever the prankster, Bubba stuck around long enough to query the 2011 PGA Championship winner about his signature one-eyed system of lining up putts.

“As one of your biggest fans,” Watson said, according to PGATour.com, “the public would like to know what are you looking at when you’re reading putts.”

Batting neither his dominant left or right eye, Bradley refused to divulge the key to his success.

“Well, if I explained it to you, then I’d have to kill you,” Bradley deadpanned. “So I don’t want to...give you any of my secrets.”

Not to be deterred, Watson offered to “leave the room” if Bradley let the golfing public in on “why you’re doing that and whatever you’re doing when you do that.”

No dice, Bradley responded.
“Listen, it’s the stink eye; don’t get in the way of it,” he cautioned. “It will burn you.”

Watson was able to evince at least one concession from Bradley, who went 3-0 with Phil Mickelson in team competition at the Ryder Cup before losing his singles match to Rory McIlroy. Lefty’s favorite belly putter navigator acknowledged he had shared his secret with his mentor, who, because he’s a southpaw, “goes the other way.”

Apparently satisfied with that dollop of classified info, the PGA Tour’s other big-time left-hander reportedly ceded the floor to Bradley.
