It’s not often that John Daly makes it into the conversation with Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead, but the popular, formerly hard-drinking, two-time major champ is joining the two golfing icons in the annals of mixology.
John Daly launches cocktail that bears his name
John Daly is fed up with others using his name on a drink called the “John Daly.” Now he’s going to make his own John Daly.

Coming soon to a package store near you -- the John Daly Cocktail, an alcoholic version of Palmer’s legendary lemonade-and-iced-tea concoction.
The grip-it-and-rip-it Daly, who tweeted that he’ll celebrate four years of sobriety next May, decided to venture beyond the world of high balls and into the world of highballs to capitalize on the “John Daly” beverage that bars throughout the U.S. have been been teeing up without his permission.
I don't drink anymore but tired of people using my name and serving a bad john Daly my drink is awesome #The Only John Daly

Daly, who tweets about the brew (“Grip it and sip it”) with the hash tag #theonlyjohndalydrink, has apparently been on a two-year crusade to bar saloons from offering his namesake aperitif on their menus.
“For all my fans out there hittin the bars & events I’m lookin for your help--ANY PRINTED MENUS, BANNERS OR ADS promoting the ‘John Daly’ drink--Can you please bring to my attention with a pic and/or a tweet of the bar location & brand of sweet tea! Thanks for lookin out!” Daly tweeted back in 2010, according to Golf Digest.
My name is on 14 thou menus illegally not fair to me so I'm bringing my John Daly drink out its better #theonlyjohndalydrink

Snead’s classic swing, by the way, was the inspiration for “the smoothest beer in golf,” Slammin’ Sam, which debuted in July at the Greenbrier Classic. Daly’s mixture of lemonade, sweet tea, and vodka will be available initially at Bevmo stores in California, Arizona, and Nevada.
