The 2012 Mayakoba Golf Classic will begin on Wednesday in Cancun, Mexico. The tournament is unfortunately taking place the same weekend as the Accenture Match Play Championship, which will feature 64 of the top 66-ranked players in the world.

The Mayakoba will not be totally devoid of talent, of course, as five of the participants are among the top 75 in the world rankings. No. 69 Spencer Levin, No. 70 Robert Allenby, No. 71 Charles Howell III, No. 72 Johnson Wagner and Rory Sabbatini will all be duking it out in Cancun. Wagner will be trying for back-to-back wins in the event, as he took home the trophy at last year’s tournament by finishing at 17-under. That score also set the record for lowest score to par at the event, which has been held since 2007.

The field will also include four golfers who at one point in their career were ranked at No. 1 (David Duval, Tom Lehman, Greg Norman and Nick Price), as well as 11 former Majors winners.

You can find full info and tee times at the Mayakoba Golf Classic’s official website.
