Hank Haney, a former coach for golf superstar Tiger Woods, is putting out a new book called “The Big Miss,” which neither Woods nor his representatives are very happy about. The Associated Press revealed that a portion of the book deals with Woods considering joining the Navy SEALs at some point between 2004 and 2008.
Tiger Woods Allegedly Wanted To Be A Navy SEAL
Woods, when repeatedly asked to elaborate on these claims at a recent press conference, had no interest in talking about it. You can see video from the uncomfortable press conference at Deadspin, courtesy of Timothy Burke. Over the past few years, Woods has slowly become the undisputed king of giving the stink-eye to people whose questions he doesn’t want to answer.
It’s interesting to think of how different the world might be had Woods taken the plunge and become a Navy SEAL at that time. For starters, he likely would have gone on to star in the number one movie in America, “Act of Valor.” And you know what movie stars get, right? That’s right; ladies.
He also probably would have been hanging out with Jesse Ventura a lot more. So way to go, Tiger. Way to not commit. Now we don’t get a show on the Golf Channel where you and Jesse “The Body” investigate crop circles and the HAARP device. I prefer to imagine a universe where that show exists. The best of all possible worlds.
