Midway through his first round of the 2012 Masters, the odds-on favorite is playing steady golf just under par and keeping pace with the rest of the field.

Tiger Woods, in pursuit of a resurgence of his career in earnest, a fifth green jacket and a 73rd career PGA Tour victory, is playing perfectly acceptable golf in the first round at Augusta. Through his first nine holes, he sits at 1-under and is tied for fifth place with a bevy of other players.

Woods hit birdies on holes three and eight, while picking up a bogey on the par-4 hole seven. The current leader is Henrik Stenson, who is shooting 6-under through his first 10 holes.

Woods is the betting favorite to win the entire tournament, followed by Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson
