Masters 2012: Tiger Woods Hits Bunker On Hole 12, Remains 2-Under

In Thursday’s opening round at the 2012 Masters in Augusta, Tiger Woods is doing his best to stay on the pace. Woods entered the day as the odds-on favorite to win the tournament and is known for steadily improving over the late rounds of play. He is off to a solid start on Thursday, although he has run into a couple spots of trouble.

Woods has three birdies on the day, but bogeyed on hole seven. He looked to be in trouble again on the par-5 hole 12, attempting to hit the green under regulation from the fairway. The ball appeared to be on target, but to Woods’ chagrin then bounced and rolled through the rough to land in a bunker on the other side of the green.

Woods managed to hit the green from the bunker on his third shot, winding up with a medium-length putt that went wide left of the hole on his birdie attempt. Woods tapped it in for par to remain at 2-under through 12.
