Masters 2012: Tiger Woods Finds Rough On Hole 15, Remains 3 Strokes Off Lead

In Thursday’s opening round at the 2012 Masters in Augusta, Tiger Woods is chasing the current leader, Henrik Stenson. Woods headed into the final holes of his first round just a few strokes off the lead, as Stenson faltered on hole 16 with a bogey and went to 5-under.

On the 15th hole, Woods drove his tee shot into the rough as his ball went in amongst the crowd. He recovered well as his shot from the rough on the par-5 hole found the fairway, and his following shot cleared the water hazard and placed him on the green in regulation, albeit from a distance. Woods needed a two-putt to make par, keeping him stuck at 2-under and three shots behind Stenson with three holes left to play. Stenson is currently on hole 17.
