The third round of the 2012 Masters in Augusta is underway on Saturday. In the first significant move of the third round, Justin Rose has made significant strides, jumping sixteen spots on the leaderboard into a tie for eighth place on the strength of three consecutive birdies in his front nine.

Rose entered the day having shot an even par on each of his first two rounds on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, however, he is off to a rollicking start, with birdies on holes six, seven and eight to put him at 3-under, just two strokes off the pace of leaders Fred Couples and Jason Dufner, who have yet to tee off on Saturday.

Other golfers at 3-under include Nick Watney and Paul Lawrie.
