Masters 2012: Tiger Woods Finishes Disappointing Weekend At 5-Over

After he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational two weeks ago, many people, especially CBS executives, were hoping that Tiger Woods would have a strong showing in the 2012 Masters.

Instead, Woods struggled with the course in all four rounds, never finishing below par. Sunday was no different, with the three-time Masters champion shooting a +2, dropping him to +5 for the Tournament.

He finished in a tie for 40th, closer to last place (+18) than he was to the Green Jacket (-10).

Tiger remains no closer to returning to contention in a major more than two years after his disastrous car accident in November 2009 that changed the trajectory of his career and public perception.

However, while his pursuit of Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors seems in jeopardy, Woods is still only 36 years old. Nicklaus himself won his final major at the age of 46.
