Andres Gonzales received an early birthday gift on Tuesday in the form of a sponsor’s exemption to the PGA Tour’s HP Byron Nelson Championship in Texas later this month.
Happy Birthday, Andres Gonzales! You’re Going To The HP Byron Nelson!
Tiger Woods tweaker Andres Gonzales tweets his way into PGA Tour event.

The Nationwide Tour golfer who’s known more for tweaking Tiger Woods via Twitter (“@TigerWoods hey I have a question. Why you ducking me?” @Andres_Gonzales tweeted on April 30. “Let’s put a peg in the ground [and] get after it. #missyourface”) than for his on-course prowess happily accepted the surprise invite from tourney organizers, who used the event’s @HPBNC Twitter account to offer him a spot in the field.
Hey @Andres_Gonzales want to come to Texas? How 'bout May 14-20 for #HPBNC? The fans have spoken and they want you here!

In what appears to be something of a social-media trend, Gonzales becomes the second golfer to employ Twitter to win an exemption into a PGA event. After a concerted lobbying effort via his Twitter account, Jason Gore earned a tee time to the Northern Trust Open earlier this year.
For Gonzales, the exemption included an extra prize, since his May 16th birthday falls on the eve of the tournament.
@hpbnc I just realized you gave me a great birthday gift.My birthday is May 16th!!!
