The second round of the 2012 Players Championship is underway on Friday at TPC Sawgrass in Florida. Martin Laird and Ian Poulter entered the day atop the leaderboard at 7-under, but Laird is making some strides early to build on that lead.

While Poulter has not yet teed off for Round 2, Laird has added three strokes to his lead to remain atop the leaderboard at 10-under through 15 holes, although two bogeys have limited the distance he’s been able to put between himself and the field.

Zach Johnson has moved into second place at 8-under, as he has gone 6-under through 14 holes. Charlie Wi has also made massive strides on Friday, at 6-under on the day through 17 holes to move into a tie at 7-under. He joins Poulter in third place, as well as Adam Scott and Jonathan Byrd, both of whom are at 3-under in their second round.
