WGC Bridgestone Invitational 2012: Furyk Looks To Hold Lead as Woods, Mickelson Fade

The first page of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational leaderboard are all just starting their third round, and neither Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson look as though they will challenge for the win.

Woods, who entered the day tied for 44th place, shot a 2-under 68 to move to even par through 54 holes, well off leader Jim Furyk’s 11-under score throug 36 holes but up into the top 30 overall.

While Woods output through Saturday is sure to be a diaspointment, it’s even worse for Phil Mickelson, who is 3-over par through 13-holes on his through round, plumetting lefty to 44th place. Mickelson has four bogeys today and only one birdie, contiually missing fairways and finding himself in difficult positions all around Firestone Country Club.

Furyk has just teed off with 28-year old Spaniard Rafael Cabrera Bello. Bello who was 9-under through 36 holes, is looking for first tournament victory on American soil but may be a bit nervous after a double-bogey on his first hole.

Bo Van Pelt and Justin Rose have been the biggest risers of the day. Both are 3-under par through 10 holes and have moved into the top 10 at 4-under for the tournament.
