WGC-Bridgestone Invitational 2012: Jim Furyk Holds 1-Stroke Lead After 3 Rounds

Just as he did after the first and second rounds, Jim Furyk sits atop the leaderboard after the third round of the 2012 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

Furyk’s third round was full or pars as he finished the day with one birdie, one bogey and 16 pars. While his even-par 70 was not one of the low rounds of the day, it was enough to keep him in the lead at 11-under. Louis Oosthuizen cut into Furyk’s lead with a third round 68. He will begin the final round one stroke behind at 10-under.

Tiger Woods’ chances of taking over the world No. 1 ranking are not looking very good. Woods could regain the No. 1 ranking by winning this tournament, but he sits in a tie for 24th place 11 strokes off the lead.
