Mother nature continues to influence the 2012 BMW Championship in Indiana, as the PGA Tour pushed second round tee times up three hours with heavy thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday afternoon. Threesomes will go off both tees in one consecutive morning wave. The forecast also calls for increased rain overnight, and a Monday finish is the least desirable outcome for the Tour at one of their marquee playoff events. Heavy rains doused the course over the weekend, forcing rules officials to enact lift, clean and place on Thursday. They will now adjust again and try to sneak in the second round before the rain comes Friday.

The featured group of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Nick Watney will go off No. 1 at 9:39 a.m. ET. The top three players in the FedExCup standings are all under par. McIlroy is part of a quartet of players tied for first at 8-under, while Woods is just one shot back. The soft conditions and lift, clean and place enabled both players, who were already in top form, to fire darts right at the pins on Thursday. There were plenty of rounds in the mid-60s on Pete Dye’s home course just outside Indianapolis and Woods and Rory will try to duplicate that on Friday morning.
