Russell Henley wins the 2013 Sony Open by 3 strokes over Tim Clark

Russell Hensley won the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii after shooting 24-under over four rounds to top Tim Clark. Hensley hit five straight birdies over his final five holes.

Russell Henley won the 2013 Sony Open in Kapalua, Hawaii on Sunday with a final score of 24-under over four rounds. He tied second-place finisher Tim Clark with a low-round score of 7-under on the final day of competition. Henley made birdie on his final five holes to secure the win.

Clark shot 4-under over his final five holes to finish at 21-under overall, three strokes back of Henley but well ahead of the rest of the pack. Scott Langley entered the day in a first-place tie with Henley at 17-under overall, but shot even Sunday to finish in a third-place tie with Charles Howell III (4-under on Sunday).

Matt Kuchar, ranked No. 22 in the latest World Golf Rankings, shot 5-under to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place with Brian Stuard and Chris Kirk.

As a result of his win, Henley took home $990,000 of a $5.5 million purse. The win was his second of the 2012-13 season.
