Tiger Woods holds five-shot lead at Farmers Insurance Open

Tiger Woods looks well on his way to the Farmers Insurance Open title at Torrey Pines.

It looks like Tiger Woods is going to win the Farmers Insurance Open and continue his mastery of Torrey Pines. Woods is 16-under through five holes, five shots clear of second place Grandt Snedeker and Nick Watney in the final round of the tournament.

Woods has won the Farmers Insurance Open six times, two times more than any other player. He also shares the tournament record low score at 22-under and won the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines in 2008. He is absolutely dominant at the course just outside of San Diego and looks set to add another title there to his resume.

Woods is two-under on the soggy day at Torrey Pines. Nobody has shot particularly low, with three-under leading the way so far so unless Woods manages to give several strokes back, the tournament should be his. He is doing his best to make that a possibility, though, as he scrambles around the course, missing fairways and then hitting greens or hitting the fairway and then finding himself in a bunker.

The tournament has been slowed by rain all weekend and will not finish on time. The leaders, including Woods, are through just five holes with only an estimated one hour of sunlight left. As a result, the tournament, and likely Woods’ win, will not be completed until Monday.
