Tiger Woods is back on the course at Bay Hill, and the intervening weather delay has not affected his momentum as he’s already 1-under through his first three holes on Monday’s restart. Tiger played only two holes on Sunday before play was washed out, but he still found the room to add to his lead with a birdie on the second hole to walk-off with a three-shot margin. It doesn’t appear that multi-shot lead is going to dissipate as he makes his way to the turn.

Tiger Woods appears well on his way to his third win of the 2013 season, picking up on Monday morning with an impressive restart to his final round at Bay Hill.

On Monday, Tiger opened with an easy par at the third hole to stay at 12-under but then took advantage of another par-5 to keep the lead at three. With Keegan Bradley attempting to apply pressure with a birdie two holes ahead, Tiger steadily drained a moderate length putt to move to 13-under. The putter has saved him all week, as he’s near the bottom in driving accuracy and had a mediocre week hitting greens-in-regulation. But he’s repeatedly made up for it on the green, draining putts to save par. As Golf Channel noted, he’s made 18 putts over 8 feet this week, which is by far the most of anyone in the field. The putt on the fifth was just outside 10 feet, and he put it right in the center of the cup to maintain his dominance on the par-5s -- historically his recipe for victory.
Tiger is playing with Rickie Fowler, who’s desperately trying to keep pace with the current No. 2 player in the world. Fowler has not played well when paired with Woods in the final round, and he does not appear to be a threat to Woods Monday. The bigger push will likely come from Bradley, who matched Woods with the lowest number in the third round and is 3-under through seven holes in his final round.
But with the par-5 sixth hole coming, Tiger could quickly add to his lead with another birdie, or even eagle. At this point, the multi-shot lead looks safe and it could be another Monday stroll into the clubhouse, where he would claim his eighth Arnold Palmer Invitational title and reclaim the No. 1 ranking in the world.
