Michael Phelps needs to work on his golf club toss

Looks like Michael Phelps needs some work on the overhand driver throw.

Michael Phelps may be an 18-time gold medal winner but that doesn’t mean he’s going to take to golf like, ahem, a duck to water. So when the frustrations of the game inevitably caught up with Hank Haney’s newest project during Monday’s episode on Golf Channel, Phelps took his pique out on his driver.

Problem was -- in addition to the obvious poor etiquette involved -- Phelps kinda sucks at the Olympics club toss, which he proved in this less-than-stellar heave-ho at the Old Course at St. Andrews (golf clap/CBSSports.com):

Phelps’ pathetic puff ball elicited this amusing comment from teacher Haney: “That wasn’t even a good attempt at being mad.”
