2013 WGC-Cadillac Championship leaderboard: Steve Stricker leading, but several stars lurking

Steve Striker is leading on Friday afternoon at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, but Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson are all in the hunt.

Steve Stricker leads the WGC-Cadillac Championship at 8-under, but he has a star-studded group chasing him. Graeme McDowell, Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, Justin Rose, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Hunter Mahan, Rickie Fowler, Jason Dufner and Ian Poulter are all within three shots of the lead on Friday afternoon, setting up what should be a great final 2½ rounds.

Woods, McDowell, Watson and Freddie Jacobson all shot 66’s in the first round to take the lead, but Stricker was right behind them and has moved to the front with a 3-under second round through nine holes. Stricker started the round at No. 10 and made birdie before five straight pars. Back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17 catapulted him into the lead at 8-under for the tournament, though, where he has a one-stroke lead over five.

The triumvirate on Stricker’s heels at seven-under are first round leaders Woods, McDowell and Watson, as well as Rose and Thaworn Wiratchant. Rose is three-under on the day through eight holes and Wiratchant has the day’s low round at four-under through just seven holes.
