Phil Mickelson demonstrates the “body wiggle”

Warren Little

Phil Mickelson is compiling quite the (cough) body of golf lessons at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

A day after offering an in-depth tutorial on chipping off cart paths, Dr. Phil showed off his patented "body wiggle" he employed to try to get his near-ace on the par-3 ninth (his final hole of the day) to fall. It ended up six inches away and he tapped in for birdie, but that’s not what he wanted to talk about after posting his second straight 67 to get to 10-under for the week and into a third-place tie with this week’s other teaching pro, Steve Stricker.

“I gave it a little body wiggle and usually if you give it a little body wiggle you’ll get an extra foot or two release out of it,” Lefty, without cracking a smile, told the Golf Channel after his round.

(Golf clap, as always for the king of GIFs, Kyle Porter)
