Masters: 2013: Bubba Watson’s hovercraft hovers nearby Augusta National

The BW1 is in Augusta, but there’s no chance it makes the trip down Magnolia Lane.

AUGUSTA, GA -- Bubba Watson brought more than his big-hitting and defending championship to the Masters. He also has his next-generation flying golf cart parked nearby.

The “BW1” hovercraft, which Watson debuted last month, is on display for patrons leaving Augusta National and making their way for John Daly’s motorhome-based Loudmouth operation, about a mile from the golf course down Washington Road in the Hooters parking lot.

Needless to say, Bubba’s transport had Masters rush hour traffic slowed to an even creepier crawl Thursday morning.

Bubba, by the way, mentioned his new ride in a pre-tourney presser.

“Tom Watson, yesterday...talked a little bit about things,” Watson told reporters Tuesday. “He wanted to talk about the hovercraft more than anything else because he’s got the 400‑acre farm or whatever.” -- Live from IZOD Social Hub
