2013 Masters leaderboard: David Lynn out in front

David Lynn currently sits atop the Masters leaderboard as Jim Furyk, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods and others chase.

Inexperience doesn’t seem to be phasing David Lynn on Thursday as the Masters rookie is currently the first round leader.

Lynn is holding a two-stroke lead as he sits at 5-under through 16 holes. He started his round off well with a birdie at the first, before recording a par on his next six holes. Lynn, playing in just the third major tournament of his career, started to move up the leaderboard with back-to-back birdies at No. 8 and No. 9. He gave one stroke back with a bogey at No. 10, but rebounded quickly. He moved to 4-under with birdies at No. 11 and No. 12 before moving further into the red with a birdie at No. 15.

While Lynn is currently atop the leaderboard, he’s one of 19 players currently in the red. Jim Furyk is currently alone in second place at 3-under through 12. Furyk recorded birdies on four of his first eight holes, but is 1-over in his last four holes. Tiger Woods is also in the red as after five pars to open his round, Woods birdied No. 6. He hasn’t been sharp thus far, with errant tee shots and some poor approach shots, but he’s been able salvage at least par.

John Peterson, a 23-year-old Masters rookie, is the leader in the clubhouse as he posted a 1-under 71 on Thursday. Here is a quick glance at the leaders and a few notable names.
