The third round of the 2013 Masters is in the books, and it’s tight at the top of the leaderboard as Brandt Snedeker and Angel Cabrera are tied for the lead at 7-under.
Masters 2013 scores and results: Brandt Snedeker, Angel Cabrera tied for the lead
There was plenty of movement on the Masters leaderboard Saturday, but Brandt Snedeker and Angel Cabrera finished the day tied for the lead.

Snedeker moved into the lead with a 3-under 69 on Saturday. He parred his first 12 holes before posting three birdies over his final six holes to move into a share of the lead. Cabrera also shot a 3-under 69 on Saturday, although he took a different route to get there. Cabrera finished the third round with six birdies, three bogeys and nine pars. He gained a share of the lead with a birdie on No. 18. Cabrera and Snedeker will be paired in the final group on Sunday.
Jason Day opened the third round in the lead and stayed there for most of the day before faltering late. Day was 1-under on the round and 7-under overall through 16 holes, but he finished bogey-bogey to drop out of the lead and two-strokes behind the leaders.
Adam Scott made a nice move up the leaderboard, finishing with a 3-under 69 to move to 6-under overall and into third place. After playing the first 12 holes at even-par, Scott closed out his round well with three birdies on his final six holes. He will open the final round one-stroke behind the leaders as he attempts to win his first major tournament.
Scott is one of a few players within striking distance of the lead. Marc Leishman at 5-under, Matt Kuchar at 4-under and Tim Clark at 3-under are also within range. Clark shot the lowest round of the day, carding a 5-under 67. His low round moved him up 30 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for seventh.
Like Clark, Tiger Woods is also tied for seventh place at 3-under. Woods was-up-and-down on the front nine, but was able to capitalize on a few birdie opportunities on the back side. He finished with a 2-under 70 on Saturday, a solid round after he was assessed a two-stroke penalty in the morning for taking an improper drop on Friday.
Although the top of the leaderboard is loaded with big names, a few other notable players will not be in contention on Sunday. Rory McIlroy was 3-under overall through six holes on Saturday, but imploded over the rest of his round to shoot a 7-over 79. He’ll open the final round at 5-over, in a tie for 44th place. Fred Couples was in contention for much of the day, but finished 5-over on the final five holes. He’s now even-par for the tournament.
Phil Mickelson had a rough run as well on Saturday, as he shot a 5-over 77 and sits in a tie for 56th place. Tianlang Guan, the 14-year-old from China, also finished 5-over on Saturday. He’ll begin his final round at 9-over. Keegan Bradley, a sleeper pick by some to win the Masters, shot an 82 on Saturday and currently sits in last place of the players who made the cut.
