Masters 2013 payout: Winning share is $1.44 million
The Masters’ $8 million purse will be divided up soon and a number of players will come away with a six-figure check.

The final round of the 2013 Masters is coming to an end and in addition to the green jacket, the winner will also receive a check worth nearly $1.5 million. It won’t just be the champion cashing in either as the top eight finishers will walk away with a quarter of a million dollars or more.
With a total purse of $8 million, the Masters payout will once again be one of the largest in golf. The top three finishers will walk away with at least $500,000 while the top 20 finishers will receive a check for $100,000 or more. The exact payout is impossible to project as ties will factor in, but here’s the slotted payout for the top 10 finishers, via Augusta.com.
1st $1,440,000
2nd $864,000
3rd $544,000
4th $384,000
5th $320,000
6th $288,000
7th $268,000
8th $248,000
9th $232,000
10th $216,000
A runner-up finish will always leave players wondering “what if” but coming up just short of the green jacket will also leave one player with nearly $600,000 less in his bank account. As Bubba Watson proved, the winning share of the Masters will allow you to buy a lot of cool things, like hovercraft golf carts.
Ties will ultimately factor into the final payout. If two players are tied, the prize money allotted for their spot on the leaderboard will be combined, then averaged. For example. if two players were tied for ninth place, the prize for ninth ($232,000) and the prize for 10th ($216,000) would be averaged and each player would receive $224,000.
Tianlang Guan, who finished at 12-over for the tournament, would have been in line to receive more than $20,000, but as an amateur, he will not receive a payout.
