RBC Heritage 2013 odds: Brandt Snedeker favored one week after Masters disappointment

The last time we saw Brandt Snedeker, he was tumbling down the leaderboard on Sunday at Augusta. But the former Heritage winner is back as the favorite, where he started last Sunday, this week on Hilton Head.

USA TODAY Sports

After a wild week at Augusta for the season’s first major, the PGA Tour returns to action for the traditional stop at Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage. Harbour Town is annually cited as the one of, if not the favorite stop on Tour by the players. Even if it’s routinely right after a major, the classic course draws a solid field to South Carolina where the pros play for a tartan, rather than a green jacket.

On the eve of the tournament, Brandt Snedeker is the favorite with 14/1 odds. Snedeker shared the 54-hole lead at Augusta, but unlike his playing partner, Angel Cabrera, he could not keep pace on Sunday and tumbled down the board with a poor final round. Despite that disappointing ending, Snedeker is still among the top five players in the world, and he’s been the most consistent non-Tiger golfer on Tour this year. It will be a shock if he’s not at least in contention or on the first page of the leaderboard come Sunday, so he’s a good favorite.

Following Snedeker is a trio of world-class golfers at 16/1. Like Snedeker, Jim Furyk is a former winner here and he’s been playing solid golf for the past month, popping up on leaderboards on a weekly basis. Luke Donald finished as the runner-up to Snedeker at Harbour Town two years ago, and he’s also at 16/1 with WGC-Match Play winner Matt Kuchar. Here are the odds for some of the other favorites heading into the week at Hilton Head, courtesy of Bovada:
