Bill Haas sits atop the leaderboard at the Memorial after shooting a 5-under 67 on Friday to move to 9-under on the tournament. He’s been chased by seven other players who are within four shots of the lead, most of whom already teed off in the second round.

Haas got going with a birdie at No. 4, followed by an eagle and a birdie to shoot 4-under on the front nine. The back nine wasn’t as clean, with two bogeys, but he also had three birdies to finish 5-under for the round.

Matt Kuchar is three shots back of Haas at 6-under and is finished for the day. Charl Schwartzel is two shots back of Haas, but he has only recently teed off after shooting a 65 in the first round. In fourth place, Scott Piercy and four others have just begun their day.

Tiger Woods is well off the pace at even for the tournament. He finished 2-over for the round and is 1-over overall, leaving him a steep uphill climb on the weekend if he wants to repeat as tournament champion.
