A three-and-a-half hour weather delay stalled the first round of the 2013 U.S. Open, but the players are back on the course and there are a few notable names near the top of the leaderboard.
U.S. Open golf 2013 leaderboard: Ian Poulter, Charl Schwartzel among the early leaders
Players are back on the course after a weather delay and it’s crowded at the top of the leaderboard.

Not a lot of golf has been played thus far, but scoring conditions have been favorable. A few players got off to quick starts including Charl Schwartzel. The former Masters champion birdied three-straight holes after opening his round with two pars. At 3-under, Schwartzel sits atop the leaderboard, with a number of other players also in red figures.
Nicolas Colsaerts, Tim Clark and Ian Poulter are among the group of players one stroke back at 2-under. Poulter got off to a quick start, opening his round with three straight birdies, but he dropped out of a tie for the lead with a bogey on No. 14. Phil Mickelson bogeyed his first hold of the day, but was able to rebound with a birdie two holes later and is even par through seven holes.
The first round has not been kind for Sergio Garcia thus far as he’s 6-over through six holes. Garcia started his round with a bogey, but moved back to even with a birdie on his third hole. A double bogey at No. 14 moved him to 2-over, but that was just the beginning of his problems. Garcia hit his drive out-of-bounds on No. 15 and ended up carding a quadrouple bogey 8.
