With two rain delays halting play on Thursday, it’s going to be a busy Friday at the U.S. Open. Play will begin early Friday morning with players wrapping up their first rounds before the second round begins. Viewers will once again be able to watch a lot of the action live with more than 10 hours of live TV coverage scheduled.
U.S. Open 2013 TV coverage and schedule for Friday
There is a lot of golf to be played on Friday at Merion and unlike the Masters, viewers will be able to watch most of it live.

Players will hit the course early Friday morning with television coverage beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET. Television coverage will begin on ESPN and remain until 3 p.m. At that point, the broadcast will switch to NBC for two hours until 5 p.m. The day’s coverage will wrap up on ESPN with the broadcast continuing until at least 7 p.m. Coverage could extend even later, depending on how late players remain on the course. ESPN’s television coverage extended past 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Play was delayed nearly four-and-a-half hours due to weather on Thursday. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood will be among the players finishing their first rounds early in the morning before coming back to the course to begin their second rounds. Weather could once again be an issue on Friday, with the possibility that play could be delayed again.
If weather does not impact Friday’s rounds, viewers could be in store for more than 12 hours of live coverage. Here’s a closer look at Friday’s broadcast schedule, including online streaming and radio options.
