Day 1 of the 2013 Travelers Championship finished with Charley Hoffman atop the leaderboard, one shot ahead of Hunter Mahan and two shots ahead of Bubba Watson. Hoffman’s 9-under 61 included eagles on No. 10 and No. 13 at TPC River Highlands. He shot 2-under on the front nine, then lit up the back making birdie or eagle on five of nine holes. Low scores were common across the board. On the day, 65 players finished below par.
Travelers Championship 2013 scores: Charley Hoffman leads after Round 1
Charley Hoffman shot 7-under over the back nine Thursday to take a lead into Day 2 of the 2013 Travelers Championship over Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson.


U.S. Open winner Justin Rose finished six shots off the lead at 3-under, putting himself in a tie for 18th place along with the likes of Lee Westwood, John Rollins, Dicky Pride, Stewart Cink and Angel Cabrera. Defending Travelers champion Marc Leishman is tied with seven other golfers in 10th place at 4-under.
