2013 Scottish Open: Tee times, TV schedule and streaming for Thursday’s round

The final tune-up for the 2013 Open Championship starts Thursday as the European Tour stops at Castle Stuart for the Scottish Open. This event is often populated with some of the best players in the world as they get in some final reps on a links-style course and in weather conditions they’re likely to face for the season’s third major. This is the third year that the tournament will be played at Castle Stuart after the switch from Loch Lomond, the historic venue for this event but one that was not a links-style preparatory test for next week’s major.

Phil Mickelson is the biggest non-Euro player in the field this week, continuing his routine of playing the week before a major. Mickelson missed the cut last week on the PGA Tour’s stop at Greenbrier, leaving two extra days to jet overseas and adjust to the Scottish-British Open double. The links golf of Scotland does not set up well for Mickelson, who rarely contends at the Open in the same way he regularly pops up on the leaderboard at the other three majors. But a second-place finish in 2011 boosted Mickelson’s confidence and approach in the more challenging conditions, which he’ll practice through this week. On Thursday, he’s paired with Stephen Gallacher and Padraig Harrington in the first wave off No. 10.

The Golf Channel will have live TV coverage of the Scottish Open starting before dawn in the eastern United States. The broadcast will come on the air at 5:30 a.m. ET and run until 12:30 p.m (a simulcast stream is available on Sky Sports after registering for their service). Mickelson is set to go at 3:35 a.m. ET so the coverage should feature his entire back nine. Here’s the complete tee sheet for Thursday’s opening round, with all times ET:
