American golf fans will get a week to get used to the time change at the Open Championship at Muirfield if they plan on following Phil Mickelson and the Euro Tour stop at the Scottish Open this week. The Scottish Open has become a preparatory stop for many of the top players in the world who adjust to the time change, weather conditions, and links style course the week prior to the season’s third major.

Scotland will be the center of the golf world for the next two weeks, with the Scottish and British Opens back-to-back at Castle Stuart and Muirfield.

Mickelson almost always plays the week before a major championship, and the move from Loch Lomond to Castle Stuart, a much more linsky test, made this appearance completely expected. Last year, he was a late addition after missing the cut at Greenbrier, as Lefty scrambled to adjust his schedule and get in some more work before the British. He’ll play with Padraig Harrington and Stephen Gallacher through the first two rounds, drawing the largest galleries and all the TV cameras.
The streaming options for the Euro Tour events are limited compared to the weekly PGA Tour stops, but Sky Sports does have a live online simulcast available on their website. You will have to register for their service, but they are scheduled to carry the first two rounds beginning at 5:30 a.m. ET and the weekend rounds beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
