Tiger Woods has won five times on the PGA Tour this season and he’s favored to add a sixth win this week at the Barclays. With the start of the FedExCup Playoffs, Woods will be joined by a star-studded field, but that didn’t stop oddsmakers from installing him as a 5/1 favorite to win.
The Barclays 2013 odds: Tiger Woods heavily favored to win
The Barclays field is loaded with the best players in the world, yet Tiger Woods is still a heavy betting favorite.

Adam Scott has the second-best odds, well behind Woods, at 16/1, according to Bovada. Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy round out the top five and all currently have 18/1 odds to win. Dustin Johnson at 25/1, Brandt Snedeker at 28/1 and Matt Kuchar at 28/1 are the only other players with odds better than 30/1.
Woods, the No. 1 player in the world and FedExCup points leader, is a 7/1 favorite to hold the first-round lead. Scott and Mickelson are 22/1 to lead after 18 holes. Despite Woods’ struggling to a tie for 40th finish at the PGA Championship, oddmakers expect a strong week from him. He’s -275 to finish in the top 10, compared to Scott who is +125 for a top 10 finish. At +110, Woods is nearly even-money to finish in the top five.
Fresh off his win at the PGA Championship, Jason Dufner is a 30/1 favorite to win at the Barclays. Here is a closer look at some of the odds heading into Thursday’s first round, with the complete list available here.
