It’s not bad to be Adam Scott, who cashed his second $1.44 million check of the year on Sunday afternoon by winning The Barclays. It’s the second time this year Scott has finished atop the leaderboard of a tournament with an $8 million purse, the first obviously coming at Augusta for The Masters. Scott followed that first major victory up with Sunday contention at the final two majors of the season, and this win now moves him to No. 2 in the world and locks up a spot for the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. He’s also now No. 2 in the FedExCup standings, and will be in the running for the grand prize $10 million awarded to the overall playoffs winner.
The Barclays 2013 purse: Adam Scott cashes another $1.44 million payout
The Aussie is now No. 2 in the world after his second lucrative win of the season.

The victory pushes Scott’s career earnings past the $40 million threshold and boosts his chance for 2013 Player of the Year. He’s now earned $40,402,028 in his career and $4,646,513 in this career-defining season.
The limited field playoffs events have some of the largest purses all season, with each totaling $8 million. That’s the same amount doled out at the four majors, and only The Players and WGC events have larger purses. Here are the complete payout totals from Sunday’s first leg of the 2013 FedExCup:
