World Golf Rankings 2013: Henrik Stenson joins top 5, Rory McIlroy drops

Henrik Stenson bumped Rory McIlory out of the top five of the 2013 World Golf Rankings this week. McIlory began the year at No. 1, but has steadily dropped down the standings since.

Tiger Woods stands atop the 2013 World Golf Rankings yet again this week, but the top five saw a shakeup. Henrik Stenson jumped two spots up to No. 4 after winning the 2013 TOUR Championship on Sunday. Stenson’s 3-stroke victory also launched him to No. 1 in the final FedEx Cup standings, giving him a nice $10 million reward on top of the $1.44 million he won out of the TOUR Championship purse.

Stenson switched spots in the World Golf Rankings with Rory McIlroy, who failed to make the TOUR Championship after missing the cut at the BMW Championship during the weekend prior. McIlory was No. 1 in the rankings to start the year, but lost the top spot in March after Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Steve Stricker also made a sizable jump up the rankings, going from No. 9 to No. 7 after finishing tied for second place with Jordan Spieth at the TOUR Championship. Stricker’s move bumped Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker down one spot each.

The top 10 of the World Golf Rankings is included below. The full rankings can be found on the Official World Golf Rankings website.
