There are just 18 holes left in the two-week Hawaii swing of the 2014 PGA Tour season, and Chris Kirk holds a one-shot lead starting Sunday at Waialae Country Club. Kirk jumped up to take the lead with a third round 65, edging fellow Georgia alum Harris English and Will Wilcox, who is playing on a sponsor’s exemption, by one shot. Kirk will play the final round with English and Wilcox on Sunday, as the Tour opts to send the field out off split tees in threesomes.
2013 Sony Open: Tee times, pairings for Sunday’s round
Chris Kirk begins Sunday’s final round on Oahu with the lead, but an impressive set of chasers are all around him.

Also playing in that final wave off the first tee is none other than John Daly, the 47-year old who’s fighting to keep his already limited PGA Tour playing privileges. Daly snuck through to the weekend on his last putt of Friday’s second round. But after his shaky play on Friday, he shot back up into the hunt (relatively) with a 6-under round of 64. Daly carded a bogey on the second hole, and that was his only blemish on the card, which featured seven birdies. He’s five shots off the pace, so he’ll need to shoot at least that number again on Sunday to have shot. But at least he didn’t fold, and still has a chance on Sunday.
The biggest names in contention are probably Zach Johnson, last week’s winner at Kapalua, and Jason Dufner, who was also in the mix on Maui. Johnson is 9-under, well within range to chase down the leaders, especially with the tight and winding Waialae layout playing to his strengths as one of the more accurate ball strikers in the world. He’s probably the most consistent American golfer over the past seven months, and his 2014 year is already off to an impressive start. Dufner, who’s right there with Johnson when it comes to throwing darts at the pins, will be out one group ahead with John Peterson and Brendon Todd. Here’s the full tee sheet for Sunday’s final round from Oahu, which will finish Sunday night in primetime after the NFL playoffs are over (all times ET).
