Nick Faldo is not fond of cupcakes

Not only did Nick Faldo waste a perfectly good cupcake, he’s also probably better at darts than you.

Rob Carr

During his playing career, Nick Faldo showed the ability to get a golf ball to stop on a dime. Apparently, he can do the same thing with cupcakes.

Faldo was working as a commentator during the second round of the Humana Challenge on Friday when noted health enthusiast Gary Player joined Faldo and Terry Gannon in the broadcast booth. Faldo pulled out a cupcake to joke with Player about eating healthy. Then, the six-time major championship winner casually tossed the cupcake over his shoulder. The only problem was the cupcake stuck to the broadcast backdrop and remained there, appearing to float in mid air.

The entire situation brings up a lot of questions. What exactly was in that frosting that caused the cupcake to remain stuck. Is Nick Faldo also a world-class darts player? Did someone eat the cupcake after Player left, or did a perfectly good dessert go to waste? If the cupcake hadn’t stuck to the wall, would that have been a two-stroke penalty for an illegal drop?

There is probably a hole-in-one joke in there somewhere too.
