Waste Management Phoenix Open 2014 streaming: How to watch online, TV schedule and more

For those poor, unfortunate souls unable to join the party at TPC Scottsdale, here’s how to watch Friday’s second round of the Phoenix Open.

Allan Henry-USA TODAY Sports

From an on-site experience perspective, the Waste Management Phoenix Open is probably the best tournament of the PGA Tour season. It’s definitely the most fun and rowdy atmosphere, an untraditional golf setting that’s comparable to a college football game. And the crowd accepts this as their duty, taking it upon themselves to pack a season of drunken golf spectating into four days so they can carry the banner as the wildest stop on Tour.

Unfortunately, most of us can’t attend the party, so we enviously look on from our frozen bunkers across most of the country. The crowd and venue make this event just as fun to watch as the actual players in attendance, and Golf Channel does their best to make that as much a part of their coverage.

And they will have the broadcast again on Friday before handing things off CBS for the majority of the weekend. Coverage will run again from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET, when Phil Mickelson, the defending champ, ASU alum, fan favorite, and headliner of the tournament will be out on the course. Mickelson is tentatively set to tee off at 2:25 p.m. with Ryan Moore and Bill Haas, so most of his round will be televised, including his late stop at the boozy par-3 16th.

In addition to the TV coverage, PGA Tour will have its “Featured Holes” stream fired up in the morning well before the broadcast goes live. That will run all day, and then Golf Channel’s LiveExtra service will also simulcast the TV broadcast at 3 p.m. ET. Here are your media options for Friday at the Phoenix Open.
